A Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) is someone with specialized training and certification in the care of patients with Diabetes. Eligibility requires the appropriate undergraduate certification, 2 years of caring for Diabetic patients and passing an exam. Once certified by The National Certification Board of Diabetes Educators, completing annual continuing education credits is part of the life-long learning requirement.
