Biography

Richard A. Sachson, MD, FACP, FACE – Biography

Richard A. Sachson, M.D., received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Brooklyn College, Brooklyn, New York in 1964, and his M.D. (summa cum laude) in 1968 from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York. He then completed a year as a guest investigator at Rockefeller University in New York City. Dr. Sachson did his internship and residency from 1968-1970 with the Department of Internal Medicine, University of Chicago Hospitals, Chicago, Illinois. He also did two years of fellowship with a Clinical Association with the National Institutes of Health, NIAMD, Bethesda, Maryland, and an additional two years as a Clinical Research Fellow, Endocrine Unit, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Sachson has been a Clinical Endocrinologist with Endocrine Associates of Dallas, P.A., since 1974 and is an investigator, subinvestigator and Partner Advisor for Research Institute of Dallas. He is also a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas and an attending physician at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.

In addition, he is the Medical Director of the Diabetes Management Institute and an attending physician at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas. Dr. Sachson is board certified in Endocrinology and Metabolism subspecialty by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Endocrinology as well as a member of the Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. Dr. Sachson has been a lead or contributing author on numerous research publications and has held positions as an officer, board member or committee member with many medical professional and research organizations.
